Pioneer conducts the NJDEP required activities in accordance with the Vapor Intrusion Technical Guidance document dated March 2013. The potential for chemical vapors to migrate through subsurface soils and/or preferential pathways (such as underground utilities or porous materials ) thereby impacting the indoor air quality of area buildings are caused by the presence of volatile chemicals in contaminated soil or ground water.
Vapors from groundwater impacted with volatile organic chemicals can accumulate under buildings and migrate into the living space. Pioneer has performed numerous sub-slab, near slab and indoor air vapor evaluations in accordance with the NJDEP regulations. If vapor impacts are discovered, Pioneer can install vapor mitigation systems.
